French born but with an Italian passport, raised in the US, Canada and 5 other countries following his family, Paolo was poised for an international career from the onset. Fluency in 5 languages secured him his first music Industry international job in the early nineties as Business Affairs Manager at Italian indie label Flying Records. Moving to BMG Publishing first and later being called to run Dutch record label affiliate Arcade Music Italy, in 2000 Paolo joined Roadrunner Records further to the hard rock label’s takeover of the Arcade group. Subsequently to the closure of the Italian office, Roadrunner appointed him VP of International at their European headquarters outside Amsterdam where he spearheaded the label’s international development and was instrumental to breaking Canadian multi platinum act Nickelback outside of North America. After a short time back in Italy as GM of the Universal Music domestic division, in 2006 Paolo joined Nickelback’s management Union Entertainment Group as their head of International, a role that he continues to hold, and in 2010 founded international marketing & promotion services company International Solutions for which he serves as Chief International Officer.
General Manager, UK & Ireland
In his 16 year career in the UK music industry Mike has taken positions across all of the major labels as well as distribution and consultancy. He has worked multiple genres and in a variety of roles, from Strategic Marketing through to Frontline development. He has worked with an array of major names – launching albums by artists as diverse as Gregory Porter, Rod Stewart and Alison Krauss – and has nurtured the first steps of others into the European arena. At Universal, he was Director, Affiliated Labels at Decca Records, with his team’s remit covering the marketing and promotion of releases from key US labels. His tenure at Decca saw a pronounced increase in sales from the broad Country/Americana genres as well as a renewed focus on Jazz. Prior to Universal, Mike held roles at Sony and Warner Music. In January 2014 Mike took an opportunity to launch his own venture, acting as a UK market consultant, managing release projects as well as providing development support to artists and businesses. As this business grew, the need to offer an International service in addition to UK development became greater and International Solutions offered that avenue. In March 2016 Mike was named International Solutions’ General Manager for UK and Ireland – merging his company into the ISOL operations. Mike also sits on a number of UK industry advisory panels.
General Manager, Australia, New Zealand & S.E. Asia
Victoria has built a career in the entertainment industry spanning nearly two decades with extensive experience both in Australia and internationally whilst working with artists including Green Day, My Chemical Romance, The Wombats, Foals, Muse, Rob Thomas, Biffy Clyro, Michael Buble and many more. Having spent most of her career in record labels including Island Records UK, Virgin Records, EMI Music & later as the Head of Press for Warner Music Australia, Victoria launched Alpha Entertainment in 2011, an independent firm specialising in PR, marketing, management and strategic consultancy. Alpha’s roster counts high profile clients such as Live Nation, Beyond The Valley Festival, Soundwave Festival, Hanson and Kyla La Grange. She joins International Solutions as the Australia / New Zealand General Manager but also with a look to support the company in its business development effort in Asia.
VP Business Development – New York, USA
Michael Canter has worked in the music business for over 25 years. The last 5 years he has been a sales/marketing consultant for many labels, managers and artists. For 14 years, he served as the VP Sales for Roadrunner Records, implementing and developing sales strategies for such superstar rock acts as Nickelback, Slipknot, Lynryd Skynryd, Theory of a Deadman and many developing rock artists. Prior to Roadrunner, Michael worked for Big Beat/Atlantic Records as VP Sales, helping develop and break such diverse artists as Junior Mafia, Lil Kim and Inner Circle. He has strong relationships across the board within the industry and joins International Solutions as VP Business Development in the US.
Digital Marketing & Social Media Manager – London, UK
Originally trained as a musician and writer, Alexandra’s career in digital marketing and social media began in the video-games industry. She climbed the ranks at the Japanese publisher and developer Square Enix (previously Eidos) before making the leap to the non-profit sector in 2011, where she took the digital lead at top 50 UK charity, Stewardship. Her campaign efforts won nine industry awards for social media engagement and innovation. In 2015, Alexandra created a digital agency catering to a wide range of industries: music, luxury design, non-profit, beauty eCommerce, events and pharmaceutical. She brings to her role at ISOL a breadth of knowledge, native social insight, and a passion to see artists thrive in the digital space.
International Marketing Consultant – London, UK
Dino has worked in the industry for over 20 years, beginning his career at MCA before moving to Virgin Records as International Promotions and Marketing Manager overseeing amongst others, the campaigns for Genesis, Peter Gabriel and The Cult. He later moved to London Records as International Marketing Manager before joining the Chrysalis owned Echo Label as Head of International where he was responsible for the full roster, which included Feeder, Moloko and Morcheeba. In 2006 he moved to a UK Marketing Manager role within Echo where he spearheaded the campaigns for Ray Lamontagne and Bat For Lashes, both of which were later successfully upstreamed to major labels Parlophone (EMI) and 14th Floor (Warners). Dino joined International Solutions in 2011 working the latest Robbie Robertson album “How to become Clairvoyant” in the UK and across Europe. And by the way, in sign of affection, we call him Waldorf.
Sr International Project Manager – Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Lauren started her career in 2006 as an intern at the European headquarters of Roadrunner Records where she trained in the international department and assisted the VP of Marketing on day to day business. She then moved to the world music compilation label Putumayo World Music as a Marketing assistant and supporting the label’s European operational efforts. In 2010 she returned to Roadrunner Records taking the position of International Product Assistant specializing in marketing and promotion. After the sale of Roadrunner Records to the Warner Music Group in 2011 Lauren decided to take a 2 year sabbatical to work and live in Australia, a time where she was able to make great new experiences and create more than a bond “down under”. She returned to The Netherlands in 2013 and joins International Solutions as the company’s International Project Manager, a role that she is perfectly suited for and for which her years at Roadrunner have trained her at the best levels of the industry. She reports to the company CIO and is based in the Amsterdam office.
International Coordinator – London, UK
Heather started her career in 2009 in the live sector, working for Redfest and Lodestar festivals. During that period, she also took a part-time marketing intern position at Eagle Rock Entertainment which led to a full time Marketing Assistant job and a further promotion to Marketing & Promotion Coordinator in 2013. She joins International Solutions in a similar position with a remit to support the company’s International Project Managers on the one hand and engage with our clients on promotion scheduling and coordination. Heather will also be responsible for the company’s Internship Program which is expected to launch in fall of 2016.
